During their time together with the
Miami Heat, the big three of
LeBron James,
Dwyane Wade, and
Chris Bosh were unstoppable and earned two championships for the franchise.
Most conventional wisdom says that James was the team's most important player but former Heat star
Udonis Haslem recently set the record straight.
Haslem claimed that Bosh was in fact the most important factor when the Heat were the best team in the NBA.
Udonis said:
"Everybody think that our most important player was Bron, our most important player, not our best player, was CB," Haslem said. "Because if Bron went down, you could bring in D-Wade. It's not the same player, but you're going to get similar results. ... We ain't have another CB. If that motherf---er went down ... we ain't have another one of those."
Haslem said that if James was taken down during game, other players like Wade would be able to step up and fill the void that he left. But Bosh was a completely different animal and no one could replicate what he did on the court.
During his years with the Heat, Bosh averaged 18 points and 7.3 rebounds. He earned an All-Star appearance during every season with the Heat but was unfortunately forced to retired after the 2015-16 due to blood clot issues.
Bosh was an offensive beast, of course, but he was also a defensive powerhouse, which made him very unique and, according to Haslem, downright irreplaceable too.
