Oklahoma City Thunder superstar,
Shai Gilgeous-Alexander, talked to ESPN's Malika Andrews in an interview where he touched different subjects. Calmed and poised as he is when he plays basketball, Shai talked about his present with the franchise, and of course, their future.
Shai Gilgeous-Alexander has been amazing for the Oklahoma City Thunder pretty much since he got there, back in the 2019-2020 NBA season. Entering the league alongside
Luka Doncic,
Trae Young, Mikal Bridges and Jaren Jackson Jr among others, Shai earned his place, starting his career with the Clippers, and being one of the "old guys" in OKC's success.
In a recent interview, Shai was asked about how he sees the present of his team, and what can they accomplish despite their youth, and this is what he told:
"No knock on my first year, it was amazing. But it was the first time in my life I was on a team with older guys, guys with kids and a family. This team [OKC] feels like a college team, like a high school team."
Shai also said that the team is capable of anything, including winning right now. They are in a great form and looking as menacing as ever.
About winning the MVP, SGA remembered watching
Kobe Bryant as a kid: "I can't remember what exact game it was, but I just know I was watching a Kobe game, the crowd was chanting MVP, he was at the free-throw line. And I just remember going outside after the game was over, chanting MVP to myself at the free-throw line, hoping and dreaming that one day I would be in that moment. And it's kind of crazy but it happened. It's crazy, It's an amazing feeling."
Gilgeous-Alexander and his OKC Thunder are currently tied at first place with the Minnesota Timberwolves, with a 43-19 record. and will be receiving the visit of the Miami Heat, on Friday night.
