After being ruled out with a knee injury, the reigning MVP is back.
Joel Embiid surprised everyone tonight by anticipating his return with the
Philadelphia 76ers at home, hosting the
Oklahoma City Thunder. Fans in Philly looked insanely happy.
Joel Embiid's come back has been one of the stories of this NBA Tuesday night. The talented center returned to the starting lineup since his last NBA appearance, on January 31st against the Golden State Warriors. The Philadelphia 76ers surely have missed him but now they could be flipping the narrative in the Eastern Conference.
Let's face it, if you're any top team in the East and all of the sudden you're facing a 76ers squad with Joel playing at 100% you are not happy at all. The Sixers are a tough team that's been dealing with several injuries up to this point, that's what's been keeping them flying under the radar. By the time Embiid injured his knee Philadelphia was one of the top 3 teams in the Conference.
So far, the 2023
NBA MVP has showed good signs regarding his movement. He's been reluctant to attack the basket or crashing the boards, probably avoiding unnecesary contact in his first game back to action.
However his shooting was right were he left it. Embiid has an outstanding midrange game. His footwork is elite and he remains having that awesome touch with the ball. The big man finished with 24 points, 6 rebounds and 7 assists. Him being back is outstanding news for the basketball fans around world.
