"We just want to win": Zion Williamson about the New Orleans Pelicans goals

The expectations swirling around these New Orleans Pelicans team have been huge the last couple of seasons. But their main weapon, Zion Williamson, was never fully healthy to take this team to the next level. This 2023-23 season, excuses time is over and Zion and the Pels are ready to earn some respect in the NBA Playoffs.

The New Orleans Pelicans are on their way to achieve a historic season with 50+ wins. Zion Williamson has been phenomenal this season, surely his best since he was drafted back in 2019. After defeating the Detroit Pistons on the road, Zion spoke with the media and established his team's objectives:

"My answer is always gonna be the same," Williamson stated bluntly. "I want to win. The coaches, my teammates, the organization, we all have the same mindset. We just want to win."

"If we can get (fourth), that would be great,” Williamson allowed. "It would be great for the city and great for the team but you got to play the cards dealt to you. Wherever we land in the standings, we are going to make the most of it."

Next game against the OKC, Zion will tie his career-high in games played in a single season. In addition, if New Orleans manages to maintain their spot, Williamson will be able to make his long postponed playoff debut.

"I feel great and I'm having fun. In terms of stacking my days, it's just doing all the little things. Recovery, extra recovery. Conditioning, and extra conditioning. And then in practice, bringing more intensity so that my body can be used to that," Zion Williamson shared.
