The
Golden State Warriors star
Stephen Curry has opened up after
being benched at the start of the fourth quarter in the match against the Minnesota
Timberwolves.
The 36-year-old started the fourth quarter of an
all-important clash but came back to the court with less than seven minutes remaining.
His return did help the side in waving off the eight-point deficit
but the Timberwolves managed to overcome the hurdle and registered an important
win with the score of 114-110 at the Target Center in Minneapolis on Saturday.
Talking after the match, Curry opened up about the decision
made by head coach
Steve Kerr which, by the end of the match, felt like it did not
help the side as they ended up on the wrong side of the result.
“Obviously, comparing it to last game and the normal
rotation, I want to play as many minutes as I’m fresh and able to,” said Curry.
“So, a little bit, knowing that they were going on a run.
“The lead was kind of whittling away. So, [I] played the
whole fourth quarter against Indiana, [but it] didn’t work out. This didn’t
work out [either]. So, we gotta find somewhere in the middle.”
Curry was by far the best player for the losing team on the
night as he registered 31 points to go with four rebounds and three assists.
