The New York Knick small forward
OG Anunoby has expressed optimism
that he will return to the action before the playoffs.
The 26-year-old has recently undergone surgery to remove a loose bone fragment from his right elbow. Anunoby was recently quoted in a
report where he expressed optimism that he will be back in action in the near
future.
“Yeah, for sure [I’ll be back before the playoffs],
hopefully,” he said. “Just following the doctors’ orders, following the medical
staff, just progressing day by day. I’m feeling better and better every day.
So, yeah. I want to be back as soon as possible.”
Those words will give the Knicks fans a lot of optimism
going towards the business end of the season and they would love to have the
services of their star performer as soon as possible.
The London-born was having a more than decent season before getting
injured where he was contributing 15.3 points, 4.2 rebounds and 2.3 assists per
game. In his most recent outing against the Miami Heat which was back on January
27, he ended up contributing 19 points to go with one rebound and four assists.
His best outing this
season came in the match against the Knicks earlier in the season when he was
playing for the Toronto Raptors where he contributed 29 points to go with five
rebounds and four assists.
