Chicago Bulls' star
Zach LaVine will be treating an injury on his right foot that requests surgery for a proper recovery, ending a season filled with
trade deadline drama surounding his future in Windy City.
The news came with less than a week to the trade deadline and, while things have been quiet the last couple of days, Zach's future has been discussed long enough throughout this season.
LaVine's expensive contract and lack of franchise results ended up with the Chicago Bulls exploring the options in exchange for their star shooting guard.
There were quite a few teams interested in acquiring Zach's talents to improve their rosters and increase their chances to compite for a ring. This was the case for the
Los Angeles Lakers. LA would have loved to land the former dunk contest champion to provide instant offense. LaVine's skills have improved over the years, developing a deadly shot and solid dribbling. This comes on top of his well known athleticism.
He was also followed nearly by the Detroit Pistons, who are on the look for an experienced player an the two-time All-Star was a great choice.
LaVine has dealed with some injury problems this current season, which have caused him to miss several games.
The Chicago Bulls can't seem to catch a break with these severe health issues. They lost Lonzo Ball two seasons ago, expected to come back for the 2024-2025 season. And now this situation with Zach LaVine leaves them with their chances to holding to that 10th spot quite compromised.
LaVine's numbers this season were really good given the few games he played: 19,5 points, 5,2 rebounds and 3,9 assists. His surgery is programmed for the upcoming week and is expected to take 4-6 months to fully recover.
