The
Los Angeles Lakers only have a short amount of time to decide which route they want to take with the upcoming NBA
trade deadline. After weeks or
rumors and speculation, it is time for them to make a decision. According to Shams Charania, they are looking at multiple possible additions for the team.
Charania recently said that the Lakers are doing their due diligence and contemplating signing
Dejounte Murray,
Bruce Brown,
Tyus Jones, or
Terry Rozier. Of course, since this report, Rozier has been sent from the Charlotte Hornets to the Miami Heat, so he is officially off the market for now. But the Lakers are still considering Murray, Brown, or Jones, among others.
Murray makes the most sense for the Lakers, which is why the team has been eager to get him for weeks now. However, he is also the most difficult to get. The Lakers would have to send away D'Angelo Russell along with several draft picks in order to intrigue the Atlanta Hawks.
Brown could also be a great fit for the Lakers. Just months after winning the championship with the Denver Nuggets, Brown could be a great playmaker and defender too. He could add to the team's offense and defense at the same time.
Jones is a reliable point guard who is averaging 12.3 points, 2.9 rebounds, and 6.3 assists per game this season for the Washington Wizards. He has only been with the Wizards for one season now and, for the right deal, the team would be willing to send him to LA.
With a number of options, all with varying price points, pros, and cons, the Lakers will have to make a definitive choice about what comes next for them.
