The
Los Angeles Lakers are hoping that
LeBron James chooses to stay with the team this summer and the chances are high that he does. However, if he does depart, the team will need to work hard to replace him. Their options are limited but they would definitely attempt to fill the huge void that James leaves.
There are a few players who could possibly come close to picking up the slack if James said goodbye to LA.
Although he was just signed by the Indiana Pacers, Pascal Siakam could come to the Lakers if James left. And while he wouldn't be as good as James, can anyone be?
Over the last 54 games, Siakam has averaged 22 points, 6.4 rebounds, and 4.9 assists. He is also a talented three-point shooter, which would definitely assist the Lakers.
With impressive three-point skills and a lot of versatility, OG Anunoby could be a huge help for the Lakers. He is also a solid defender, which is something LA has always had trouble with.
Plus, Anunoby is young, just 26 years old, and could possibly become the future of the franchise.
DeMar DeRozan, currently of the Chicago Bulls, has almost played with the Lakers a few times now. The Los Angeles native would fit right in to basically any rotation and could also bring serious experience and leadership skills too.
Even though he's a bit older, DeRozan is still posting more than 22 points and 5 assists per game.
The Los Angeles Lakers would need a veteran leader if they lost LeBron James and Paul George could definitely fit the bill.
He is about LeBron's size and posting more than 22 points per game on 45.8% from the field. The nine-time All-star is versatile and productive on both ends of the court.
