5 top candidates likely to miss out on 2023-24 NBA Coach of the Year award

Coaching in the NBA is not easy for anyone, especially with all the money and prestige involved nowadays.

While people always wait to see who will be crowned as the NBA Coach of the Year, some known candidates miss out on the contention after having a disappointing campaign according to their lofty standards.

We are bringing you a list of five such candidates who are likely not to feature in the top-10 candidates list to receive the NBA Coach of the Year award in this campaign: Frank Vogel, Erik Spoelstra, Nick Nurse, Darvin Ham and Steve Kerr.

Phoenix Suns head coach Frank Vogel did not have a great season. His team is currently placed in the eighth position in the Western Conference with 42 wins and 30 defeats.

Miami Heat’s coach Erik Spoelstra is likely to miss out on that list as well. The Heat are currently placed in the seventh position in the Eastern Conference with 39 wins and 32 defeats.

Philadelphia 76ers head coach Nick Nurse is not having a great season either. His team currently sits in the eighth position in the Eastern Conference with 39 wins and 33 defeats.

Los Angeles Lakers head coach Darvin Ham is another candidate who will not feature in that list. The Lakers are placed in the ninth spot in the Western Conference with 39 wins and 32 defeats.

The Golden State Warriors' head coach Steve Kerr is perhaps the highest-profile coach who will not feature in the top-10 candidates to win the award. The Warriors are battling to keep their 10th spot in the Western Conference with 36 wins and 34 defeats.
