Golden State Warriors veteran power forward
Draymond Green
has revealed that he asked his franchise to not trade
Los Angeles Lakers star
LeBron James with
Jonathan Kuminga.
According to a recent report published by ESPN, the Warriors
were keen to sign the 39-year-old in the recently concluded mid-season transfer
window.
One of the names that did float in a potential trade with the Lakers was of young power forward Kuminga. Green was recently quoted in a
report where he stated that he asked the management to not trade Kuminga for James.
“If Kuminga was in the deal, the answer should be no,” he said.
Kuminga is often regarded as one of the most highly-rated
players currently playing in the competition. The 21-year-old is having an
impressive time this season on the court where he is averaging 15.5 points, 4.7
rebounds and 1.9 assists per game.
His most impressive outing in the ongoing campaign came in
the match against the Sacramento Kings where he registered 31 points to go with
three rebounds and three assists.
On the other hand, James is one of the big-name players in the
competition but is slowly and surely moving towards the end of his career.
Despite that, James is having a fabulous season where he is averaging 24.8
points per game to go with 7.2 rebounds and 7.2 assists.
