Minnesota Timberwolves' guard,
Anthony Edwards is reaching new heights this season. At 22 years old, he is averaging 26 points, 5 rebounds and 5 assists per game and, above all, he is making his Wolves a winning team when absolutely nobody in the NBA expected it.
Edwards was asked on TNT about his transition from being an exceptional individual player to a star who helps his team win games. Edwards was very clear about it:
"Being with the U. S. at the
FIBA World Cup this summer changed my perspective on everything, playing as a team, playing the game and not just run iso's and try to score, playing in a system. And now we're doing that".
These statements by Edwards are curious because if anyone saw Steve Kerr's Team USA play in the last World Cup, it seemed that they did not play at all. But it is very difficult to put young NBA stars with little experience in a FIBA system. It is clear that Edwards, the next competition he plays (perhaps the Paris 2024 Games) will also take a step forward with the American team.
