Tomorrow Monday, the Brooklyn Nets will be facing the Utah Jazz in New York. Nets' head coach, Jacque Vaughn confirmed that Ben Simmons will be making his return after three months. The australian was recovering from a back injury.
Simmons played in the Nets' first six games of the 2023/24 season, and from there he went down with a lumbar nerve impingement injury that has kept him out to this day.
"All signs point to the likelihood of him playing next week. So things went well," Vaughn said. "He completed the entire training session and will most likely play against Utah."
On his long-awaited return, Simmons himself explained how happy he feels about it: "It was great. I feel great. It was good to just be on the court and get up and down, play and do some live situations for me. So I'm excited to be back and looking forward to it."
In the six games Ben Simmons played for the Nets at the start of the season, the Australian player averaged 6.5 points, 10.8 rebounds and 6.7 assists per game.
