The Philadelphia 76ers fans received some great news today regarding Joel Embiid's recovery. As reported as John Clark from NCBS, the reigning MVP is expected to return perhaps in the following days. This would also allign with the previous information shared about the timeline expected.

Joel Embiid seems to be in the final stage of his recovery. The formidable center has been doing some on court drills for the past weeks and could be making his reappearance in the following games. On Tuesday the Sixers will be receiving the visit of one of the top teams in the Western Conference, the Oklahoma City Thunder.

This afternoon, prior to the Sixers victory against the Toronto Raptors, the 76ers head coach, Nick Nurse, talked to the media and about Joel's status, he said:

"He made the trip (to Toronto), he made the trip cause the majority of the players were here. And we practiced, kind of light yesterday, but then also did some stuff geared towards him."

"He's on court, there's other players out there, I think we're in the famous two words, 'ramp up', period right now, " concluded Nurse. This information could be meaning that Embiid is almost ready to return.

Philadelphia has been playing without Embiid since January 30, when he suffered a torn meniscus. From that moment up until now, the team has been trying to hang into the top seeds in the Eastern Conference, but with the competition getting more and more fierced to secure a direct playoff spot, they've had some problems winning regularly.

However, the team found a way to bounce back this Sunday after three straight losses. Without Embiid and without Tyrese Maxey, the rest of Sixers showed up and won their matchup against Toronto, establishing a new franchise record with 24 three-pointers made.

On Tuesday, Philadelphia receives the Thunder, and two nights after that they will be traveling to Florida for perhaps one of their most important games of the season, playing against their direct rivals, the Miami Heat. The Sixers are sitting in the 8th position with a 40-35 record. Miami is 7th with 41-33 and the Pacers, owners of that coveted 6th seed, have a 42-33 record. With Joel recovered, they might have a chance to compete for a chance to avoid the play-in tournament and secure a direct trip to the upcoming playoffs.
