In one of the early games scheduled for this NBA Saturday night, the Chicago Bulls faced the Boston Celtics in the United Center. The Celtics have been running through almost every team this season, as they hold the NBA's best record. Chicago has been struggling with major injuries for a while now, but despite that, they put up a fight against a way better team. Unfortunately they melted in the fourth quarter and let Boston runaway with a victory. After the game, Bulls' coach, Billy Donovan explained what happened with his team.
According to Donovan, he has noticed that his team his having difficulties on the defensive glass and getting into foul troubles late in games, about this, he stated:
"The two things that stand out, and it's been a little bit better since the All-Star break, the two things that have hurt hae been the rebounding and also the fouling," explained the coach. "Those two things have stood out and have driven our defensive rating down, Our first shot defense has not been ad, it's been pretty good, but it's been the second chance opportunities that have hurt us."
"Also, I think some of the fouling, the ability to go vertical, not trying to reach, some of those things. If you're looking at last year compared to this year, that would be two areas that have probably hurt our rating."
After being defeated tonight, Chicago still is in the same 9th spot that they have been for a while. The Bulls have a 34-37 record, four victories away from the Sixers, currently the 8th seeded. They must try to bounce back from this game because the Atlanta Hawks won their matchup today and they are now 3 games away from DeMar DeRozan's team.
