In the last of eight games scheduled for this Saturday night around the NBA, the
Denver Nuggets payed a visit to the
Portland Trail Blazers. Denver, currently number two in the Western Conference, traveled to Oregon without their two superstars. Both
Nikola Jokic and
Jamal Murray are out with some bruises. Luckily for them,
Aaron Gordon was there to take care of business.
Not easy for the Nuggets to play without their quiet leader, NIkola Jokic, who's been amazing throughout this season, as he has been for the last 3 or 4 years. Without the Joker, Denver struggles to find their rhythm on offense. Their second weapon, Jamal Murray, is also out and with him, the ability to generate instant offense. But Aaron Gordon, perhaps the last piece in the Nuggets puzzle to arrive, has showed up, playing great basketball.
Here we can see how well rounded and polished Gordon's game is right now. The former Orlando Magic is an underrated defender, who brings valuable versatility and size to defend multiple positions. In this play, Aaron protects the rim and then goes flying leading the fastbreak, dishing out a good pass for Michael Porter Jr's open three.
