In a recent interview on "The Old Man & The Three," former team president and general manager
Bob Myers revealed that they were never able to identify the person responsible for leaking the video of the fight between
Draymond Green and
Jordan Poole.
According to Myers, "We couldn't pinpoint anyone. We looked, we tried a third party, but we couldn't." This incident, which occurred just before the start of the season, marked a breaking point for the Warriors. The fight, sparked by an exchange of insults between Poole and coach Steve Kerr, and then with Green, resulted in a loss of trust and chemistry on the team.
The video, which was leaked days before the start of the season, put his worst moment on full display and was an event that derailed his season. Poole, knocked out by a punch from his teammate, lost all his confidence that season, and the Warriors went into a downward spiral with team chemistry and confidence at an all-time low.
Since then, the team's performance has been inconsistent, and its future as a contender is in doubt. Internally, the relationship between Green and Poole deteriorated beyond the point of recovery. In dealing the blow to Poole, Draymond lost the trust of his coaches and teammates, leading to a brief absence from the team altogether.
Now, the Warriors face an uphill battle in the Western Conference. Despite trying to stabilize with the acquisition of veterans like Chris Paul, they rank 10th in the standings. With their core already on the wrong side of 30, the Warriors' "big three" is likely to have a few more years, and then what? The uncertainty about the team's future is palpable, and it appears that their NBA dominance may have come to an end.
