The NBA Playoffs are on their way. In the first game of the Eastern first round, Boston Celtics received a Miami Heat team heavy diminished by the injuries. Playing without Jimmy Butler and against the best team in the NBA right now was too much for Miami. Jayson Tatum was the main guy for the Celtics, playing a solid, complete game to overcome the Heat 114-94.
The Boston Celtics handled the pressure of being the heavy favorites for this series with great character. This was a matchup between two teams that know each other very well, as they've been clashing in the playoffs for the last 4 years. With Jimmy Butler's injury in the play-in game against the Sixers, Miami's offense suffers as they couldn't count on Terry Rozier, injured as well.
The Heat stayed close to Boston until the second quarter. Boston made a few key three-pointers than allowed them to pull away from Miami. After that the Celtics dominated the rest of the game.
Jayson Tatum played an outstanding, well rounded game for Boston. registering a triple-double with 23 points, 10 rebounds and 10 assists. Jaylen Brown scored 17 points and 8 rebounds, and Kristaps Porzingis collaborated with 18 points and 4 rebounds.
Miami's resistance was mainly in charge of Bam Adebayo, who scored 24 points and 6 rebounds. The rookie Jaime Jaquez Jr had a good performance, registering 16 points and 4 boards.
These two teams will meet again next Tuesday again at the TD Garden. Heat's head coach, Erik Spoelstra, will need to come up with some adjustments to improve his team's offense. Overall, Boston is the better team and with several team members injured, Miami's chances to even win one game are slim to none.
