Boston Celtics came into Spectrum Center and took care of business early as they defeated the
Charlotte Hornets 118-104 behind
Jayson Tatum’s big night.
Jaylen Brown did not play in this game due to a left hand sprain. Therefore, the 26-year-old stepped up his game and finished with 25 points, 10 rebounds, 4 assists, 2 steals, 1 block, and 4 three-pointers for the Celtics.
Kristaps Porzingis had 20 points, 7 boards, and 5 assists while Derrick White recorded 19 points, 9 rebounds, and 5 assists. Sam Hauser scored 25 points off the bench while Al Horford contributed 15 points with 3 triples. Jrue Holiday struggled in this one as he shot 1/11 from the field for just 2 points.
Miles Bridges had a big game for the Hornets as he ended with 26 points, 11 rebounds, 8 assists, and 3 triples. Grant Williams scored 23 points with 7 boards while Vasilije Micic had 13 points and 9 assists.
Brandon Miller finished with 19 points with 3 makes from downtown.
Boston improves to 59-16 with this win and is trying to pick up some momentum heading into the playoffs. They are 8-2 over their last 10 games and will play the OKC Thunder on Wednesday.
Charlotte drops to 18-57 with this loss and continues to develop Brandon Miller. They will look to add another lottery pick in this year’s draft and hopefully be a bit more competitive next season. The Hornets are 2-8 over their last 10 games and will face off against the Portland Trail Blazers on Wednesday.
