The New Orleans Pelicans faced the Orlando Magic in one of the most interesting duels of this NBA Thursday. Unfortunately for the Pelicans, one of their star players, Brandon Ingram, had to exit the game after suffering a knee injury.
Injuries have taken the league by storm this last couple of days, and this time, the bad news fall on the side of the Pelicans. New Orleans, one of the best and more consistent teams throughout the 2023-24 season were heading into this upcoming playoffs looking like a real threat.
Currently 5th in the West with a 42-26 record, Zion Williamson and Brandon Ingram's squad were looking as a legit menace to any team in the league.
With Zion finally healthy and surpassing everyone's expectations, the Pelicans roster was pretty much stacked with talent.
Brandon Ingram was playing excellent basketball, understanding exactly what Willie Green, the Pels head coach, wanted for him. Providing solid reliable offense and improving his defensive abilities.
Ingram averages 21.0 points, 5.1 rebounds and 5.8 assists this season, shooting nearly 50% from the field and 35.7% from three.
While there's no certain information about the severity of Brandon's injury, we hope that he can be back on court soon. After 4 seasons playing in New Orleans, this could be the year that he finally finds success alongside Zion and the rest of the squad.
