Sacramento Kings guard Kevin Huerter suffered a dislocated left shoulder and a labral tear, team says.
Injuries during this last stretch of the regular season are one of franchise's biggest fears. This time, the Sacramento Kings will have to deal with the bad news that their shooting guard, Kevin Huerter, will have to sit out with a dislocated shoulder and labral tear. There's no informed timeline yet regarding his recovery.
The Sacramento Kings received some bad news today after their victory against Toronto Raptors on Wednesday night. Medical staff confirmed that their starting shooting guard, Kevin Huerter, dislocated his left shoulder and suffered a labral tear back at the game against the Memphis Grizzlies last Monday.
Huerter was injured during a fastbreak. The 25-year-old guard attacked the basket with force but was stopped with a foul by Grizzlies' Desmond Bane when he was going for a layup.
While the play did not look violent at all, Huerter layed on the floor in pain, and wasn't able to recover, having to exit the game, going straight down the locker room.
This injury leaves Sacramento without one of their instrumental players. Huerter, key on the Kings rotation, was averaging 10.2 points, 3.5 rebounds and 2.6 assists in 24.4 minutes, shooting 45% from the field and a respectable 36.1% from long distance.
There are some concerns regarding which will be the treatment options for Kevin. There's a chance that there's not enough time for him to recover and get back on court during this 2023-24 NBA season.
Huerter will most likely miss the remainder of the year due to this injury. Get better soon Kev🙏🏼
