After hurting his knee back on March 21st, the
New Orleans Pelicans secondary weapon is ready to return.
Brandon Ingram is in the final process of his rehab and has already been working out with the team and increasing the intensity of the drills.
As reported by the NBA insider Chris Haynes, a new injury update about Ingram featured very good news for the Pelicans fanbase. The talented forward is expected to return to action by the regular season's last scheduled matchup: New Orleans Pelicans vs
Los Angeles Lakers.
Ingram was diagnosed with a left knee bone contusion after an hyperextension during a game against the Orlando Magic. Luckily, the injury wasn't as severe as first thought and three weeks later, the 26-year-old star is almost recovered.
The timing of Brandon Ingram's comeback is right on the money, as New Orleans is currently sitting in the 6th spot, the last one that grants direct playoffs berths. With a 47-32 record, the Pelicans are being closely chased by the
Phoenix Suns. With that at stakes, playing against
LeBron James' team in the last match is pretty dangerous, as LA is trying to win as many games as they can to steal that 6th spot or climb in the playoffs ladder as much as possible. In conclusion, both teams will be in desperate need for a win.
In 63 games played with the Pelicans this season, Ingram averages 20.9 points, 5.1 rebounds, and 5.8 assists. His shooting splits are also remarkable, nearly 50% from the field and 35.6% from long distance.
