Minnesota Timberwolves star shooting guard
Anthony Edwards
has stated his slam dunk over
Utah Jazz’s John Collins gives him ‘chills’.
The 22-year-old produced an unbelievable moment in the third
quarter of the match against the Jazz on Monday which left the fans as well as
the player himself amused.
Edwards was quoted after the match where he stated that he somehow
managed to pull it off with the help of God and also admitted that a moment
like that gave the other Timberwolves teammates a much-needed boost in the
match.
"I was thinking I was going to miss it because I wasn't
close to the rim, but somehow God willed it in for me", said Edwards. "It
gives me chills, man, because I always dreamed of dunking on somebody like that.
It gives everybody energy. It makes everybody want to defend, want to get
stops. It makes the game more exciting."
Edwards' performance on the night was admired not only by the fans
and his teammates but also by the head of the Utah side. “That's who he [Edwards]
is," he said. "He's an All-Star. He's a hell of a player."
Timberwolves veteran point guard Mike Conley was also quoted
after the match where he stated that was probably the best dunk he has seen in
person.
"He's like a cat almost," said Conley. "He
just keeps going forward and lands on his feet. Stuff like that is what makes
him who he is and why he can manoeuvre in the game how he does."
The game ended with the Timberwolves defeating the Jazz side
with a score of 114-104 at the Delta Center in Salt Lake City on Monday.
Edwards was the star performer for the winning side on the
night as he ended up registering 32 points to go with seven rebounds and eight
assists.
