Buyout market: The San Antonio Spurs ’ have buyout Veteran small forward Marcus Morris. The 34-year-old had a weird season where he started with the Los Angeles Clippers, was then traded to the Philadelphia 76ers and then ended up at Spurs.
According to an official statement, Morris is now set to become a free agent after the Spurs confirmed a buyout. The development was first revealed by the Athletic reporter Shams Charania.
However, Morris will be eligible to sign up for the team in the playoffs which means he can still have an active part to play in the business end of the competition.
But Morris’ salary can become an obstacle in finding a new team. His current contract worth $17.1 million came to an end. His mid-level expectations will be around getting a contract worth $12 million which will make his options very limited.
The Philadelphia-born had a decent season where he ended up contributing 12.1 points, 4.5 rebounds and 1.5 assists per game. In his most recent outing against the Dallas Mavericks, he registered 10 points to go with five rebounds.
His most impressive outing this season came in the match against the Denver Nuggets where he contributed 17 points to go with four rebounds and two assists.
