Buyout market: The
San Antonio Spurs ’ have buyout Veteran small
forward
Marcus Morris. The 34-year-old had a weird season where he started with
the
Los Angeles Clippers, was then traded to the
Philadelphia 76ers and then ended
up at Spurs.
According to an official statement, Morris is now set to
become a free agent after the Spurs confirmed a buyout. The development was first revealed
by the Athletic reporter Shams Charania.
However, Morris will be eligible to sign up for the team in
the playoffs which means he can still have an active part to play in the
business end of the competition.
But Morris’ salary can become an obstacle in finding a new
team. His current contract worth $17.1 million came to an end. His mid-level
expectations will be around getting a contract worth $12 million which will make
his options very limited.
The Philadelphia-born had a decent season where he ended up
contributing 12.1 points, 4.5 rebounds and 1.5 assists per game. In his most
recent outing against the Dallas Mavericks, he registered 10 points to go with
five rebounds.
His most impressive outing this season came in the match
against the Denver Nuggets where he contributed 17 points to go with four
rebounds and two assists.
