Milwaukee Bucks veteran point guard Patrick Beverley believes
that the Los Angeles Lakers star LeBron James’ son Bronny James cannot avoid
media scrutiny because of his family name.
The 19-year-old’s future has been under a lot of discussion on
the media and social media as the NBA draft 2024 for the next season is getting
closer.
LeBron, in a post on his official account on the social
media platform X — previously known as Twitter — asked everyone to leave his
son alone who is still just a ‘kid’.
“Can y’all please just let the kid be a kid and enjoy
college basketball?” he wrote. “The work and results will ultimately do the
talking no matter what he decides to do. If y'all don't know, he doesn't care
what a mock draft says, he just WORKS! Earned Not Given!”
Beverley was recently quoted in a report where he stated
that Bronny would not be able to escape any scrutiny, largely because of his
association with the James family.
“I’ve never seen anything like this, but it comes with being
LeBron James’ son, also,” he said. “It
has nothing to do with play. We can sit here all day and say, ‘Let the kid be a
kid,’ but he’s not just a kid. … He’s literally royalty.
“I always like to look at the positives in everything,
right?” Beverley said. “Yeah, this is happening to him at a young age. This is
what his father built. That’s what he’s built for. So, if anyone can handle it,
he can handle it.”
