Former Phoenix Suns star
Charles Barkley has called out Philadelphia
76ers young point guard
Tyrese Maxey after a memorable night on the court.
The 23-year-old was the star performer for his team Sixers
who went on to secure a win in the match against the Utah Jazz with a score of
127-124 at the Salt Lake City on Thursday.
Barkley, who also played for the Sixers for eight seasons
during his career, called out Maxey after a memorable night and reminded him of a golf commitment he did not fulfil last year. “I heard you cancelled your golf
tournament last summer ‘cause you were ducking me,” asked Barkley.
In response to that, Maxey assured the 60-year-old that they
would go back and play golf in the summer. “No, no, no. We’re gonna run back
this tournament this summer, for sure. I gotta get in some practice first,” he said.
In the match on Thursday, Maxey was just unstoppable as he
ended up registering 51 points to go with two rebounds and one assist. It was
undoubtedly his best performance this season.
Overall, Maxey is
having an impressive season for the Sixers as he is averaging 25.7 points per
game which is the 13th best in the division. He is also averaging
3.6 rebounds and 6.6 assists per game.
