At this point last year, everyone knew that Victor Wembanyama was going to be the number-one pick in the 2023
NBA Draft. This year, the draft is just a few months away and there is still no clear-cut frontrunner for the top spot.
However, Colorado Buffalos freshman
Cody Williams has a really good chance of becoming the top selection for 2024 and he is generating a ton of interest as the draft approaches.
Syngery recently ranked Williams as an "excellent" offensive player, scoring 1.106 points per possession on all offensive possessions, which puts him in the 87th percentile.
For the season, Williams has averaged 13.7 points, 3.3 rebounds, and 1.8 assists per game, shooting 59% from the field and a strong 45.7% from the three-point line.
The next few weeks will be very pivotal for the future draft, as March Madness could possibly make or break the prospects of multiple college stars who are hoping to make their way into the NBA.
Williams will have his fair share of tough competition, as there are numerous collegiate players who show promise, but few have as much potential as Williams.
Many analysts agree that this year's draft will be much slower and quieter than most, especially last year's with the coming-out party surrounding Wembanyama. But as the big day approaches, more excitement is building around Williams.
