Charlotte Hornets' star, Miles Bridges has had three criminal charges against him dismissed by the State of North Carolina. The charges against him were for domestic violence protective order violation, misdemeanor child abuse and injury to personal property.
Miles Bridges was dealing with these legal issues from longer than a year now. More specifically since November of 2022. At that time, Bridges pledged no contest to a felony domestic charge following an incident occurred in June of that same year.
Prosecutors said in the filing that the victim, Bridges' former girlfriend, gave conflicting statements and that there was lack of sufficient evidence to overcome the inconsistency of the accounts.
"The evidence was going to show Miles was innocent and we were going to win a trial," Bridges' attorney, Allen Brotherton, said. "Our local prosecutor has great integrity and people should appreciate the courage to do the right thing."
Miles, who was recently cleared to play, has been trying to return to the level he was showing when these legal incidents forced him to stop playing basketball due to a long suspension. He's been playing at a great level this last couple of games and even rejected a trade that could've have him playing alongside Kevin Durant and Devin Booker, proving that he wants to remain in Charlotte.
He's on a one-year $8 million deal with the Hornets and he'll be a free agent this following summer.
