The
Golden State Warriors are facing a difficult season and may be considering significant changes. Despite the team's struggles, reports suggest that only Stephen Curry is considered untouchable in trade talks. The
Dallas Mavericks, currently holding a 23-17 record, are on the look for a big man and could benefit from exploring potential trades involving Warriors center,
Kevon Looney.
The Mavs aim to add depth to their roster and, consequently, establish a competitive lineup to bring another championship to the city, as Dirk Nowitzki and company did almost 13 years ago.
At the center position, particularly behind Dereck Lively II, Looney's presence could address the team's weaknesses, such as rebounding, and provide a solution to that problem.
The NBA has gotten bigger and stronger the last couple of years, and it appears that Dwight Powell and Maxi Kleber may fall short in that regard, having the challenge of matching up with prominent bigs like Nikola Jokic or Karl Anthony Towns if Mavs are aiming for a deep playoff run.
But Looney isn’t the only one that interests Dallas front office, since the Warriors are reportedly open to trade some other players that could strengthen the texan squad. Both Jonatan Kuminga and Andrew Wiggins could be helpful to gain some fire power.
Wiggins is having a surprising downfall since the 2022 championship where he was fenomenal. Still, former 1st pick of the draft brings very good perimeter defense and solid scoring if he starts to get in rhythm.
Kuminga has been involved in trade rumours lately. Warriors guard seems to be frustrated with his minutes and wants a bigger role. The Mavericks could be a good fit, they currently need a lengthier wing who can play efficiently on both ends of the floor.
The regular season is slowly reaching its half, as teams want to polish their squads and land some new talent that could take them to promise land.
