Portland Trail Blazers star
Deandre Ayton missed the game against
the
Brooklyn Nets because of a reportedly bizarre reason.
Blazers went on to win the contest with a score of 105-103,
largely down to the performance in the fourth quarter. It was that quarter
where the Blazers registered 31 points and the Nets only managed to bag 20 points.
As per Yahoo Sports, Ayton missed the Blazers match against the
Nets as he could not remove ice around his home. The report further stated that
the franchise did send some support but it proved to be not enough as the
player could not reach the arena on time.
Despite the absence of a key player, Portland’s team management
will be happy that they have managed to register an important win which keeps
them above San Antonio Spurs at the bottom of the table.
Ayton is having an impressive season on the court where he
is averaging 13.1 points per game. However, this is the lowest average points
per game for him in a single season in the NBA.
Ayton has the best average rebounds (10.8) per game by a
Blazers player this season. In the previous outing, the Nassau-born ended up
registering 13 points which included six rebounds as well.
