The Cleveland Cavaliers pulled away late for a 109-91 victory over the Chicago Bulls on Monday night. Earlier in the day, the trade restrictions on the players who signed contracts last offseason were lifted. Alex Caruso, Zach LaVine and even Demar DeRozan are appealing assets for the rest of the teams. Will the Bulls make some moves on the near future?

Donovan Mitchell and the Cleveland Cavaliers got to a head-start on Monday’s match. The Cavs scored 40 points in the first quarter, going 8-for-14 from three-point range, while the Bulls struggled in that area with a poor 3-for-13.

From that moment on, Cleveland held on, dominating the boards and playing with sacrifice.

“They just outworked us, to be honest with you,” coach Billy Donovan said. “Came up with loose balls, did a lot of those things, and we just dug ourselves a hole.”

Despite Coby White’s efforts, and with a 28-6 run that started in the 3rd quarter, the Cavaliers probe to be more than the Bulls could handle. Mitchell came up strong again in the 4th to boost a 10-point run that buried all hopes for Chicago.

Regarding speculation and trades, 34 year old veteran Demar DeRozan stated:

“I don’t sit up here refreshing my apps in the morning to see what’s what, rumors or anything,” “Should we, shouldn’t we . . . it’s a tough question for me because being in the league so long, I can really be at a point where that doesn’t bother me.”

The most sought-for player on the Bulls' roster remains Alex Caruso, considered nearly untouchable according to previous reports by the Sun-Times.

Although there’s a willingness to part with Zach LaVine, no market interest has materialized due to the substantial max contract he holds, which includes a player option of $49 million for the 2026-27 season.
