NBA General Manager has questioned the trade appeal surrounding
Golden State Warriors’ forward
Andrew Wiggins.
There have been reports that the 28-year-old has attracted some
interest from the rival sides in the NBA for a potential trade in the next transfer
window.
Warriors have recently been linked with a move for Pascal
Siakam but they cannot do that unless they offload a player and as per ESPN’s NBA
insider Marc Spears, Wiggins could be that one player who will be on the move.
"I like a potential Pascal Siakam trade,” he said. “The
Warriors definitely need a No. 2 scorer, he could be that. He's had a great
season. To do that, though, it's going to hit you. You're probably going to
have to trade Kuminga to do that. Wiggins, I was told by a GM that there's not
a lot of value for Wiggins right now, although you can package him and Kuminga
together.
"You can package Kuminga and CP to make it happen. But the Warriors desperately need to make a trade and that's one of them they can
do."
Interest in Wiggins does not make much sense as he is not
have great season. The Toronto-born is having arguably his worst season in
terms of points registering where he is averaging just 11.9 points per game,
the lowest in any season in his entire career.
