With the starting lineups for the 2024 NBA
All-Star officialized, there's always room for controversy. This year is no exception. The Knicks fans are decepointed because they feel that
Jalen Brunson should be replacing
Damian Lillard as the starter in the Eastern Conference Team.
The starting five list includes Tyrese Haliburton, Damian Lillard, Jayson Tatum, Giannis Antetokounmpo and Joel Embiid.
This has outraged NBA fans, especially Knicks fans, who state that Brunson is having a better season than Lillard is completing with the Bucks.
Jalen Brunson averaged 26.5 points, 3.8 rebounds, 6.4 assists, 47.8% from the field and 42.3% from three-point range for the
New York Knicks, who are in fourth place in the Eastern Conference with a 28-17 record and have won their last five games.
Damian Lillard, on a much higher level roster than Brunson has on the Knicks, and also with Giannis Antetokounmpo racking up defenders, is at 25.3 points, 4.3 rebounds, 6.8 assists, 42.6% shooting from the field and 34.7% on three-pointers.
While the numbers are pretty close, what tipped the scales in the voting has been Lillard's career. Dame has been in this event 7 times, he's been one of NBA's most prolific scorers for a solid decade, and to top all that, he was selected as a member of the NBA 75th Anniversary Team.
