During his rookie season with the
Oklahoma City Thunder,
Chet Holmgren has averaged 16.5 points, 7.9 rebounds, and 2.5 assists. He has consistently been ranked behind Victor Wembanyama of the San Antonio Spurs as this season's Rookie of the Year.
But a recent tweet that made the rounds online this week tricked many people into thinking that Holmgren received an uncharacteristic tattoo.
The parody Twitter account NBACentel posted an image of Holmgren topless on a practice court putting up shots. And on his stomach were the words "THUG LIFE." But although the picture looked realistic, it was a fake. The image was doctored and poking fun at Holmgren.
Although it was a parody image, there were some people online who thought the image was real and Holmgren really did get the tattoo. In the grand scheme of things, it wouldn't be that surprising considering how many NBA stars have tattoos. But the idea of the young Thunder star with a "Thug Life" tattoo is definitely far-fetched.
Holmgren and his Thunder are poised to push into the playoffs and are in the best position they've been in in years. After a very strong season, they are the third seed in the Western Conference just days before the playoffs kick off. They could still climb as high as the top seed if they secure two more wins.
