Paul Pierce spent years in the NBA, playing for multiple teams but most notably the Boston Celtics. During his time in Boston, the team reached new historic heights, including winning the championship in 2008. Again and again, he was a vitally important part of the team and delivered numerous clutch moments for the Celtics.
Speaking on the All Facts, No Brakes podcast, Pierce was asked if he was more clutch than LeBron James. He had a simple answer: "Facts."
He delivered his answer without hesitation, which was then met with comments from host Keyshawn Johnson.
“I’m not getting involved in this at all to be honest with you,” Johnson said. “Paul know how I feel about him. And Paul knows how I feel about LeBron James. I could certainly say that, for the record, Paul Pierce stayed in Boston. For the record, that’s all I can say. He didn’t move around. He didn’t do those – he didn’t recruit anybody outside of K.G. (Kevin Garnett) and Ray Allen via trades. That’s all I can say.”
Johnson seems to be throwing shade at James, who has played for multiple teams throughout his career. While Pierce also suited up for several franchises during his years in the association, he was very loyal to the Celtics and played for them for the vast majority of his career.
BetMGM says that James and Pierce both have seven buzzer-beating shots during their careers, which means they are both incredibly clutch players. People will likely agree or disagree with Pierce's statement based upon their loyalty to certain teams.
