In one of the most important games of the season, the Golden State Warriors visited the 5th seeded team in the East, the Orlando Magic. Golden State is trying to secure a play-in spot in what's been a very challenging season for Steve Kerr's team. With just four minutes into the game, Draymond Green was charged with a second technical foul and got ejected. Controversial as it was, the Warriors still were able to win the game and now, Draymond opened up about yesterday's incident in his podcast, 'The Draymond Green Show'.
Draymond Green has had one of his most debatable seasons in this 2023-24 campaing. The power forward began his controversial journey choking Rudy Gobert, which caused him to be suspended for two games. Just days after that, Draymond elbowed Jusuf Nurkic during a game against the Phoenix Suns. As a consequence, the league sent him home for 20 games, back in December.
This situation hurt his team's chances to succeed, and now, after all of that, he got carried away by his temper again last night, letting down his squad again.
"I'm not gonna get into what was said because that's irrelevant. To Steph point, I have to be on the floor whatever that means. You just have to do that.
I look at this, I'm not overreacting at this because of everything that happened on the beginning of the season. I feel like since I've returned everything is headed in the right direction and hit a bump on the road. Get over and keep going. I'm extremely grateful that my guys held me down. It was a very important game for us."
"I said what I said, I deserved to get kicked out at that point. It just can't happen. We need to win games. I'm not gonna overreact, I know where I am, I understand what I'm doing moving forward," concluded Green.
The Warriors will be continuing their Eastern road trip on Friday, when they visit the Charlotte Hornets. With Houston on their heels, Golden State needs to win at any cost.
