Jermaine O'Neal spent 18 years in the NBA and played for multiple teams, including the Portland Trail Blazers, Indiana Pacers, and Boston Celtics. But even though he never played for the Dallas Mavericks, he settled down in Texas and bought him and his family a massive mansion.
The mansion is now for sale, according to the Daily Mail. That publication says that O'Neal has put the 16,000-square-foot Texas mansion on the real estate market for $12.5 million.
Any buyer would get a lot with their purchase. The home holds eight bedrooms, 10 full baths, three half baths, and a "resort-sized" pool in the backyard. It also features a bowling alley and movie theater.
O'Neal never played in Texas but he was attracted to the state because of its lack of income tax. According to this report, he made more than $167 million during his years in the league. For years, O'Neal was one of the most exciting young players in the NBA. He earned six consecutive All-Star appearances while playing for the Pacers from 2002 to 2007.
O'Neal also gained notoriety in 2004 for being a big part of the infamous "Malice at the Palace" when he and several Pacers players got into a fight with Detroit Pistons players and fans in the arena. O'Neal was suspended for 15 games and lost $4.1 million because of that.
Since retiring in 2014, O'Neal has kept busy spending time with his family and coaching his son, Jermaine Jr, at Dynamic Prep in the Dallas suburb of Southlake.
