Los Angeles Lakers’ star player
LeBron James believes that
young defender Jarred Vanderbilt is getting healthier after spending time on
the sidelines.
The 24-year-old suffered the majority of the season because of a
heel injury which ruled him out of action for the first 20 matches of the season.
James was recently quoted in a report where he stated that Vanderbilt
is getting healthier and has seen his confidence increase in the recent past.
“He's getting healthier and healthier,” said the 39-year-old.
“That's helping him. It's helping him out with his athleticism, kicking back
into his athleticism, and he's getting more and more confidence."
Vanderbilt is having a decent time on the court this season where
he is averaging three points per game. The most impressive aspect is his
ability to win rebounds where he is averaging 4.7 rebounds per game.
Vanderbilt probably had the best game of the season recently
against Dallas Mavericks on Wednesday where Lakers went on to win the match with
a score of 127-110.
The Houston-born ended up winning nine rebounds, second-most by
a Lakers player, only behind Anthony Davis who won 12 rebounds. Other than
that, Vanderbilt also managed to register seven or more points for the first
time after eight matches.
