The Milwaukee Bucks came into State Farm Arena and picked up a much needed win as they defeated the Atlanta Hawks 122-113 behind Giannis Antetokounmpo’s dominant performance.
Damian Lillard sat out this game for personal reasons so the Greek Freak took over for the Bucks. The 2-time MVP finished with 36 points, 16 rebounds, 7 assists, 3 steals, and 1 block. Khris Middleton ended with 21 points, 6 boards, and 6 assists while Patrick Beverley scored 18 points. Brook Lopez and Bobby Portis each had 13 points while Malik Beasley contributed 10 points.
Bogdan Bogdanovic scored a game-high 38 points for the Hawks, including 10 rebounds and 5 three-pointers. Dejounte Murray finished with 20 points, 8 boards, and 12 assists while De’Andre Hunter had 13 points. Clint Capela ended with 10 points, 8 rebounds, and 2 blocks.
Milwaukee improves to 47-27 with this win and have a 2-game lead over the Cavs for the 2nd seed. This victory snaps a 2-game losing streak for the Bucks and they now can solidify themselves as a top team in the East. They are 8-2 over their last 10 games and will play the Wizards on Tuesday.
Atlanta falls to 34-40 with this loss and remains 10th in the East. They are now 5-5 over their last 10 games and will play the Bulls on Monday.
