Milwaukee Bucks point guard
Damian Lillard has revealed that
time during the divorce from his partner Kay’La Lillard was one of the ‘hardest
transition’ in his life.
The 33-year-old was recently quoted in a report where he
stated that he tried to stay connected with a small group of people during that
difficult time.
“[I did] stuff that wouldn’t make me feel overwhelmed,” he
said. “It can be because we all got feelings,” Lillard said. “We all have stuff
we really care about, near and dear to our heart. I’m happy I’m a stable
person, I got solid people around me. It’s probably been the hardest transition
in my life, all things considered.”
Lillard has joined the Bucks in the ongoing season after
spending 11 seasons with the
Portland Trail Blazers. Talking about the motive
behind such a move, the California-born stated that he loved living in Portland
but he was eager to have a shot at the championship.
“I loved playing in Portland, living in Portland, loved the
organization, had a great run,” he said. “I just wanted a chance to win a
championship. So that’s a lot to let go of.”
Lillard, in his first season with the Bucks, is having an
impressive time on the court where he is averaging 25.1 points, 4.3 rebounds
and 6.8 assists per game.
Talking about his objectives for the rest of the season,
Lillard revealed that he is still looking to improve further down the line.
“You got to keep pushing forward, you know? I think that's
the best thing,” he said. “I mean, as people we all know, you got to go home to
your own stuff, everybody that can watch our games they go to their personal
stuff, and it plays a part in how you do your job and how your every day goes.”
