The Chicago Bulls took down the Golden State Warriors on Thursday night, beating them 125-122. There were multiple bright stars shining for the Bulls during the game, including Coby White, who scored 20 points, 4 rebounds, and 7 assists.
Following the game, Warriors star Chris Paul spoke about White and gave him some serious praise. Paul, who considers White a little brother, said that the Bulls star should win this season's Most Improved Player.
"He better get it," Paul said about White winning the trophy.
Now in his fifth year in the league, all with the Bulls, White is indeed having a wonderful season. He is averaging 19.7 points, 4.8 rebounds, and 5.3 assists per game after scoring just 9.7 points, 2.9 rebounds, and 2.8 assists last season. He has shown tremendous growth in a short amount of time and Paul isn't the only one saying he should win Most Improved Player.
White and Paul go way back and the Bulls star actually played on Paul's AAU team. Both players are from North Carolina, as well, which is another reason why they have bonded.
But beyond all of that, Paul is very impressed by what he sees from the 24-year-old guard. Many others are, but the competition for Most Improved Player is very intense this year and White won't be able to walk away with it without a fight.
