Atalanta Hawks shooting guard
Dejounte Murray has hilariously
made fun of himself after matching an unwarranted record by the former Los
Angeles Lakers legend
Kobe Bryant.
The 27-year-old had a good night overall in the match against
the
Boston Celtics where he ended up registering 44 points and helped the side
in an incredible win in overtime with a score of 123-122.
However, Murray registered that many points in 44 attempts.
After the match, he made fun of himself while talking to the media and stated: "I
don’t wanna take that many shots, but I know Kobe [Bryant] would be proud of
me."
Murray equaled Bryant’s record which he registered in 2002 in
the match against the Celtics where he ended up registering 41 points in 47 attempts.
The win was a crucial one for the Hawks as it kept them in
the 10th spot in the Eastern Conference with 34 wins and 39 defeats.
Murray, who ended the night with 44 points to go with seven
rebounds and seven assists, is having a fabulous season for the Hawks.
He is contributing 22.4 points per game which is the
second-best by a Hawks player this season. That’s not it as he is also contributing
5.2 rebounds and 6.2 assists per game.
