The
Philadelphia 76ers point guard
Tyrese Maxey has stated
that his team is ‘pretty confident’ going into the playoffs, especially with
the expected arrival of star centre
Joel Embiid.
The 30-year-old has been out of action for more than a month
after suffering a knee injury but recent reports suggested that he is edging
closer to returning to full fitness.
Maxey was recently quoted in a report where he stated that
the Sixers will be very confident in facing any team in the playoffs if Embiid
is playing.
“Joel has been great [during his time off the court],” he said.
“He is always happy. He is a good dude. He is always around us and with us on
the court.
“He always wants to be around and help us. He is always
sending us texts and trying to motivate us. He is always positive. We
appreciate him for that.
“I think we are in a good spot. We are pretty confident against
anybody if Joel is playing. We are trying to win as many games as possible.
“We want to step in the right direction by playing high-level
basketball on our ways to the playoffs. As long as we are doing that, we will
be pretty happy.”
The Sixers are
currently placed in the eighth position in the Eastern Conference with just 38
wins and 32 defeats.
