Cleveland Cavaliers star shooting guard
Donovan Mitchell has
stated that he will miss the team’s next game against the
Indiana Pacers.
The 27-year-old recently made a comeback after missing two
weeks of action because of fitness concerns. Mitchell was recently quoted in a
report where he admitted that he would not take part in the next match because of
a nasal fracture.
"I'm probably not playing the next game, to be honest with
you," he said. "Just gotta take some time to rest and get it right. I
thought I was ready. I'm not. It sucks. I want to be out there. But it's clear
as day. Even to myself. I can't fool myself. Just get it right and be ready
when that time comes."
The news will be a setback for the Cavaliers as they have now suffered
three defeats in the four matches and they are now placed in the third position
in the Eastern Conference with 42 wins and 25 defeats.
Mitchell, in the match against the
Houston Rockets, ended up
playing 26 minutes and ended up registering 13 points to go with three rebounds
and two assists.
The New York-born is having a fabulous season for the
Rockets where he is contributing 27.4 points to go with 5.3 rebounds and 6.1 assists.
