Minnesota Timberwolves centre Rudy
Gobert has stated that he is ready to bite ‘the bullet again’ after making money
signs towards the match referee during the team’s recent defeat to the Cleveland
Cavaliers.
The Timberwolves ended up on the losing
side with a score of 113-104 at the Rocket Mortgage Field House in Cleveland.
At the end of the match, Gobert
admitted that his reaction might’ve been ‘immature’ considering it might’ve
cost his time but reiterated that he is ready to be the ‘bad guy’ against,
just to highlight the poor officiating of the team.
"I'll bite the bullet
again," he said. "I'll be the bad guy. I'll take the fine, but I
think it's hurting our game. I know the betting and all that is becoming bigger
and bigger, but it shouldn't feel that way.
"My reaction, which I think
was the truth, but it wasn't the time to react that way. It cost my team the
game. It was an immature reaction. It's not just one call. Everyone makes
mistakes, but when it's over and over and over again, of course it's
frustrating."
The defeat left the Timberwolves in the second position in Western Conference with 44 wins and 20 defeats.
On the other hand, the Cavaliers are
now sitting pretty in the second position in Eastern Conference with 41 wins and 22
defeats.
