The 2024 Paris Olympics are quickly approaching and all NBA fans are paying close attention to who will be selected for Team USA.
This year has the chance of being bigger than ever before because there are numerous stars who might sign up to play in the games, including a few stars who haven't played in years or at all. Athletes like LeBron James, Stephen Curry, and Kevin Durant are just some of the big stars who could head overseas to fight for gold.
According to Chris Haynes, there are some finalists being considered for the Team USA roster.
On Twitter, Haynes reported:
"Kawhi Leonard, Anthony Edwards, Desmond Bane, Damian Lillard, Jimmy Butler, Jarrett Allen, Paolo Banchero, Aaron Gordon and Austin Reaves among 35-40 pool of players selected for Team USA roster consideration ahead of Paris Olympics this summer, sources tell @NBAonTNT, @BleacherReport."
Those are some of the most talented stars in the league and their inclusion on this list confirms that Team USA is going to take the 2024 games more seriously than previous events.
That is partly due to the fact that Team USA just faced a humiliating loss at last summer's FIBA Basketball World Cup. They don't want a repeat of that and will do everything in their power to avoid it.
While Leonard, Edwards, Lillard, Butler, and Banchero would be great additions, everyone is also very curious about when James, Curry, and Durant will officially commit to the games. When they finally add their names to the mix, a lot more attention will be paid to the team and even more big stars will want to sign up too.
