Kawhi Leonard is playing what is by far his best season since landing with the Los Angeles Clippers in the summer of 2019 after winning the NBA with the Toronto Raptors.
It is clear that this performance is directly related to his physical condition, as he himself has confessed: "Not tearing my ACL. And not tearing my meniscus".
If you look at his 4 previous seasons with the Clippers, none of them reached 60 games. The best by far was the first one, in which he averaged 27 points per game in 57 games, but then he got injured in the playoffs.
In the second, the 20/21, he played 52 games before getting injured and being out the following season. He reappeared last season, the 22/23, perhaps the worst of his career, averaging 23.8 points per game, but with many physical doubts. He played 52 games last year and this year at this stage of the season he has already accumulated 50.
He averaged 24 points. Less than in his first two years in LA, but giving much better sensations in the game, in his worth and in his understanding with his teammates. We haven't seen a Kawhi like this since the Raptors year, so do Clippers fans have reason to dream about a ring?.
