Some refereeing decisions left the NBA fans baffled during
the match between the
New York Knicks and
Detroit Pistons.
The home team came out on top in a feisty contest with a
score of 113-111 at the Madison Square Garden in New York. It was the Nicks’
only second win in the last seven matches which left them on the fourth spot in
the Eastern Conference with 35 wins and 23 defeats.
In the dying moments of the match,
Josh Hart hit the
three-pointer to secure the win with less than three seconds remaining. The
build-up to that was slightly controversial where the ball was knocked off from
Simone Fontecchio ’s hands by Hart and Isaiah Hartenstein.
Interestingly, that was not called a foul by the referee. The
NBA fans on the social media platform X — previously known as Twitter — were not happy about it. One even went on to write that the Knicks paid the referees.
For the winning team, point guard Jalen Brunson was the star
performer as he registered 35 points to go with one rebound and 12 assists.
For the Pistons, point guard Cade Cunningham was the best
performer on the night as he ended up registering 32 points to go with five rebounds
and eight assists.
