The New York Knicks have been fighting hard all season long and it's paid off as they are now the fourth-best team in the Eastern Conference with a 34-23 record. But they have been achieving all of this while also battling some bad breaks with injuries. However, it sounds like their injury problems could be resolved as the postseason approaches.
OG Anunoby is "right on schedule" to be back with the team soon. He is currently recovering from surgery that removed a loose bone fragment from his right elbow. On February 8, the team decided it was best for him to get surgery after missing five games with his injury. He will be re-evaluated at the end of next week and should hopefully be back with his team shortly after that.
Anunoby joined the team just a few months ago and has turned out to be a great addition. So far, he is averaging 15.6 points, 4.6 rebounds, 1.8 steals, and 1.5 assists during his first 14 games in New York.
Aside from Anunoby's return, the Knicks also got the good news that Julius Randle could be back soon. He is reportedly working out twice a day and there is now optimism that he could be back by the end of the season. This is incredibly good news for the Knicks, who have been able to stay competitive even without both Anunoby and Randle.
There is a chance that both players will be returning to the team right before they enter the playoffs. They are hoping to have more luck this year than they did during the last when they were pushed out of the playoffs in the second round by the Miami Heat.
