Los Angeles Lakers star forward
LeBron James is getting closer
to achieving yet another milestone in his career.
The 39-year-old needs just nine more points to complete
40,000 points in the NBA, an incredible feat to say the least. To put into perspective how special that achievement will
be, here are some facts to enlighten the fans (from Yahoo Sports).
-
The Lakers' current contingent except for James and Anthony
Davis have combined registered just over 40,000 points.
-
Damian Lillard and Giannis Antetokounmpo have
combined registered less than 39,000 points in the NBA.
-
All teams combined this season registered just
over 35,000 points.
Those records just highlight how significant the achievement
will be by James once he reaches there.
James, who is playing his 21st season in the NBA,
has been in prolific form for the Lakers where he is contributing 25.3 points,
7.1 rebounds, 7.9 assists and 1.2 blocks per game.

rebounds and eight assists.
